About
Hi, I’m Greg Patrick—owner and craftsman behind Key Biscayne Woodcraft.
My wife, son, and I moved from Canandaigua, NY to Key Biscayne in 2021. It didn't take long to make this island our new home. The sense of community here is really special, and I love being able to contribute to it in my own small way.
I grew up on a cabbage farm surrounded by old-school farmers, carpenters and tradespeople. I didn't appreciate it as a kid, but I do now—their work ethic: take your time, take pride in what you're doing and be honest.
As for my shop, what makes it a little different is that when you hire me, you actually get me. I don’t just oversee projects—I'm involved in every step so the end result is exactly what you're expecting.
While I may call in a friend or two for help when I need it, I’m typically the one sourcing the lumber, milling it, building your project, applying the finish... and if applicable, installing it in your home or business. Every step matters to me, and I take pride in doing things the right way.
I mainly work here in Key Biscayne, but I do take on select projects around South Florida when they're a good fit.
If you've got an idea for your home or business—or just want to bounce around ideas—I'm always happy to chat.
Pricing
Because everything I build is custom, pricing really depends on the project. Some jobs are simple, some are more involved, and a lot of it comes down to the details-how much design work is needed, how big the build is, and how easy (or not so easy) it is to get everything done.
If you live in a condo, you already know the deal. Getting into the Ocean Club, The Towers, or Key Colony can be an adventure all on its own. Between parking, elevators, approvals, loading areas, trash haul, and hours we can work, it just takes a little extra time to get a project done compared to a house or townhouse on the island. Homes and local businesses are usually much easier to work in, which helps keep things moving smoothly.
Other things that factor in are how much material I'm hauling in and out, how tight the workspace is, how much needs to be protected, and what kind of prep work your space needs.
One big advantage of working with me is that I live right here on Key Biscayne. My shop is close, my tools are close, and if I ever need to run and grab something, it doesn't slow the job down. It makes the whole process easier for both of us.
If you want a ballpark idea or an actual estimate, just reach out below and tell me what you have in mind. I'll either send a quick questionnaire or stop by for a walk-through so I can take a look in person.
